The journey of becoming a Mama is no easy feat! Despite making it look so simple, Mamas deserve all the support they need as they continue the blessing of motherhood. Here at edamama, we recognize the wonderful acts of love and kindness by Mamas by providing them with supportive people.
Let’s take a quick throwback! The edamama’s Family Expo 2022 last August 26-28 was massive. A variety of Mamas and babies brands participated in the said event. Even keynote speakers were there to share their helpful tips or insights for their fellow Mamas! If you missed all the fun, don’t worry Mamas because we are here to discuss one of the highlights of our entire event – Connect Launch.
What is Connect?
“Ask – Share – Connect” This is the main function of the newest feature in our edamama app! Connect is a community made for every Mama out there who needs support from other people as they face the life of being a mother. Connect can be maximized as a space where Mamas can ask questions related to different topics relevant to motherhood or parenting. Users also have the freedom to share tips/learnings and discuss with their peers and even listed experts in the app.
The beginning of a new era: Connect by edamama
In the present times, people begin to rely on the power of technology when searching for answers to their questions. As a temporary fix to their existing overflowing thoughts, this will not satisfy the queries of Mamas out there. However, hearing reassuring statements and great parenting/childcare advice from real-like medical experts or even experienced Mamas will slowly ease the worries away.
People were granted limited interaction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike before, there are not many parenting groups to physically join or even live seminars. With that being said, edamama’s newest feature, Connect, hopes to slowly bridge the gap and fill the void Mamas feel when it comes to meeting other Mamas and learning from them based on their experiences. Aside from providing a way for people to discover new things, edamama looks forward to becoming more than just a shopping platform. We want to be classified as Mamas’ go-to super app for parenting and everything parenting.
Impact of Connect to the Mama Community
In different social media platforms, particularly Facebook, there are community groups where Moms are part of. There are those who share their success stories, and some who are asking for honest advice too. As mentioned by Mama Karla Suguitan during the Connect launch, “No amount of prior research can really prepare you for the journey of motherhood.” For this instance, the best teacher would really be Mamas experiencing it first hand, or hearing friendly tips directly from Mamas.
“Who better to ask than someone who’s going through it together with you, someone who’s in the same (thing) journey.” - Mama Karla Suguitan on how one can learn about motherhood.
What’s amazing about being in a community like Connect is that you recognize the fact that you are not alone; and that there is someone out there, dealing with the same problems, enjoying the little things related to your little bean, and pulling through everyday as mothers. Just like what Mama Grace Maulion shared, “You really can’t function alone, you need a tribe, a community.”
Sharing is caring. This can really be the theme in communities where one can learn from the mistake (or the achievement) of the other. It’s not just about simply sharing what you have gone through, it’s the impact you will leave to new Mamas, or Mamas to be. In your simplest ways, being an active member of Connect can help these individuals embrace their new role as a loving mother to their child. For example, posting of product reviews for the community to see. “Meron mommy approved na mga post, mga real reviews from moms on how effective yung product,” as stated by Mama Grace. Through this, Mamas utilizing the Connect feature will have an idea on what effective products are out there.
In the health aspect, it was mentioned that there will be medical experts available in Connect. The community can look forward to the articles or posts of licensed doctors who are very much willing to educate the Mamas in the space. The importance of Connect was acknowledged by Mama Ciara Magallanes when she recalled the time where a doctor posted about postpartum recovery.
“Merong doctor na nag post about postpartum recovery, which is really helpful because tayong mga nanay meron tayong mga old wives tale. Diba di natin alam kung ano yung mga myths? So nung nag post yung isang doctor, binasa ko talaga tapos andaming sunod sunod na nag engage (and) comment kasi andami din nilang katanungan and andami nilang natuto kaya Connect t is really helpful kaya thank you so much edamama.” - Mama Ciara Magallanes
This is definitely just one situation out of many as soon as the Connect community begins to grow.
Overall, Connect is looking forward to inspiring lives, encouraging a supportive parenting community, and guiding Mamas create wise decisions and spread joy to others! Mama Karla Suguitan promotes the advantages of edamama and its features by sharing “We really have this base of mamas using Connect. Edamama really becomes a one stop shop, (while) you have your shopping, you have educational articles, (or) if you just wanna chat, vent or what have you.”
edamama is the place to go! Looking forward to seeing you enjoy Connect, Mamas!
