Make School Day Mornings A Breeze With These Tips

kids going to school
After two years of purely online learning, kids are now preparing to return to face-to-face classes with schools reopening around the country. The same way adults had to adjust to going back to the office, heading back to school can be overwhelming for our little ones.
Worry not, mamas, as there are many ways to help your kids navigate through this new school arrangement, and we've rounded them all up for your convenience:
Build a routine.
Going back to school can bring about conflicting emotions—some may get excited about seeing friends, while others may feel scared about having to leave the house, and their mamas and papas, for an extended period.
To help them adjust, your family can start building routines at home, even before school starts. Set an early bedtime and waking time for your little ones, so they can get enough rest and wake up on time every weekday.
Remind them of health protocols.
Even with complete vaccine doses, experts have reiterated the importance of using face masks, especially indoors. As you cannot monitor your children while in school, constantly remind them of the importance of keeping their face masks on. Make mask-wearing easier by snapping the mask to a necklace. Pack a couple of extras in their school bag in case anything happens.
Another important reminder for kids is to practice social distancing. While your little ones may feel excited about the idea of playing with friends, it's best not to get too close to avoid COVID-19 altogether.
Reiterate the importance of proper hygiene.
Train your kids to do frequent hand washing at home, so it becomes second nature to them while in school. Remind them to wash their hands before and after every meal and when touching surfaces. Have a trusted hand sanitizer inside their bag in case a faucet and soap aren't readily available to them.
Choose comfortable clothing.
With uniforms no longer a requirement for in-person and online classes, it's best to keep your kids in comfortable, breathable clothing to make studying a breeze. Find a selection of versatile, quality clothing on edamama, perfect for your little one's hybrid learning set-up.

Give it time.
Like everything else in life, adjusting to a new routine can take time to adjust to. If you feel your kids are overwhelmed, talk them through the situation and ease their worries by assuring them that you are there to support them through the change.
Give your kids a safe space to voice their feelings, and assure them that you are there to listen and guide them. Remind them that they are safe and well-protected and that going to school is an excellent opportunity to learn and make lasting memories with their friends.
