Hello, dear mamas and papas!
The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the days are getting longer. It's that time of the year again - summer! As we all know, the warm months can be both fun and challenging, especially when it comes to keeping our little ones safe and cool. That's why we're here to share some wisdom on how to make the most of the season while ensuring our toddlers stay happy and healthy.

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Just as we need to drink plenty of water to stay cool and refreshed, so do our little ones. Offer them water frequently, even if they don't ask for it. To make hydration more fun and appealing, you can add some ice cubes or fruit slices to their water bottles. Don't forget to pack a full water bottle when you head out for the day!

2. Dress for success

When dressing your toddler for the summer heat, think light and airy. Opt for breathable fabrics like cotton and avoid dark colors that can absorb sunlight and heat. Loose-fitting clothes will help their bodies stay cool, and don't forget to protect their heads with a wide-brimmed hat.

3. Apply sunscreen generously

Make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 on your little one's skin. Apply it 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours, or more frequently if they're swimming or sweating. Don't forget to protect their ears, the back of their neck, and the tops of their feet!

4. Seek shade

Whenever possible, find shaded areas for your toddler to play in. If you're at the beach, bring an umbrella or a pop-up tent to provide some relief from the sun. When you're out and about, be mindful of the time and try to limit sun exposure during peak hours (usually between 10 am and 4 pm).

5. Keep them cool at bedtime

To help your toddler sleep comfortably on hot summer nights, invest in a fan or air conditioner to keep their room cool. You can also use moisture-wicking sheets and pajamas, or even a damp washcloth to cool them down before bedtime. Just be sure to monitor their temperature and adjust the cooling methods as needed.

6. Supervise water play

Whether it's a day at the beach, a pool party, or just some fun with a backyard sprinkler, water play is a great way to keep your toddler cool in the summer heat. Just remember to always supervise them closely and ensure they wear a proper flotation device and cute swimwear if they're in or near deeper water.

7. Educate them about the heat

Even though your little one is still a toddler, it's never too early to start teaching them about the importance of staying safe and cool in the summer heat. Talk to them about the dangers of getting overheated, with swimwear from bean’s Anina Rubio collection that has UPF 50+ And how it's essential to take breaks, drink water, and stay in the shade when it's hot outside.
By following these tips, you'll help ensure your toddler stays safe, happy, and cool all summer long. So, embrace the sunshine, mamas and papas, and make the most of these warm days with your little ones!
