Manila is a wonderful city to have pets! Not only are there a lot of pet options to choose from, but these days, you can go on a lot of different adventures and experiences in and around the metro with your family members and pets.
Nowadays, there are several pet friendly restaurants that you can try out, pet parks that welcome your pets any time of the week, and even pet friendly malls! But, while there are a ton of different eateries, activities, and places that you can explore with your human companions, you still have to do your research on the places and experiences that allow your pets to come along so you can prepare and they can safely tag along with you.
Now, since there are a lot of places to go to and explore, it can get quite tricky and stressful to find a place that’s pet-friendly. But, worry not as we’ve done the research for you! Read on to find out more about the pet friendly malls, pet friendly restaurants, and pet parks that you can bring your furbabies to and what you need to bring or prepare when going there.
Pet-Friendly Malls
Even though pets require outdoor time and exercise, you may find it hard to find good parks in Metro Manila, let alone dog parks, where you can take your pets out for a stroll. There are, however, a lot of malls, and thankfully more and more of them are turning into pet friendly malls. Now you may bring your pets along for leisurely outings or fast errands, but you worry about which malls to go to. Well, we’ve listed some of the pet friendly malls in the metro that you can easily visit with your furbabies.
SM Mall of Asia
Spending time in a mall is a great and simple family activity that you can easily do on any day, but if you have a pet it can get quite tricky. Thankfully, the Mall of Asia (MOA) is less strict on pets wandering through the mall compared to other SM Supermalls like SM Aura Premier or The Podium.
However, even if you’re allowed to bring them around with you while leashed, they do need to wear diapers. You and your pet can take a leisurely stroll as you and your family members go shopping or walk along outside with you to see the sunset at MOA. Now, while you can dine with your pets in outdoor areas, some restaurants, including Harry's or Racks, allow pets inside.
Eastwood Mall
If you’re a little bit further up north, you can swing by Eastwood Mall and spend the day with your furbabies and loved ones there. However, if you want to stroll around Eastwood with your pets, you will need a Pet Pass.
Alternatively, you may bring your pets to Bark Central, a secure indoor dog park where you can unwind while your pet plays with other dogs. Your pet can use the agility courses and ball pit for Php 400 an hour. Additionally, Bark Central provides training in obedience and grooming services. Humans and pets alike can also indulge in treats in the café there.
Bonifacio High Street
Bonifacio Global City is actually pet friendly, however, one of the best places to go to for a family date day with your pets is the Bonifacio High Street Area. It’s an outdoor shopping district that has a mix of stores and restaurants that you can visit with your furbabies and family members. There are wide, green areas where you can stroll around and window shop while your pet exercises or meets other pets, while the al fresco dining areas of restaurants allow you to eat with your dogs as well. There is no registration required in the outdoor area; only proper pet ownership is required.
Powerplant Mall
Powerplant Mall is a fun area where you and your loved ones can spend an afternoon together, and this time around, you can do so with your pets too! You simply have to register your furbabies at the mall’s concierge so they can get their very own Pet Pawsport.
So, if you want a hassle-free mall outing with your pet, all you have to do is make sure you always have your Pawsport. It's a nice area for you and your family to spend time in and bring your pets to since there are a ton of restaurants and activities around and the streets are friendly to pedestrians as it's not too busy.
Pet-Friendly Restaurants
Spending some time in pet friendly restaurants is the perfect way to spend time with your family and furry friends. So, whether you’re looking for some pet friendly restaurants in Tagaytay, pet friendly restaurants in Baguio, pet friendly restaurants BGC or Makati, we’ve got you covered. Check out these pet friendly restaurants near me that you can check out in and around the metro!
Makati
If you’re craving some scrumptious European specialties that you can enjoy with your loved ones and pets, then you should visit Lusso by Margarita Forés if you're near Legaspi Street in Makati.
This is a nice spot that welcomes you and your pets to dine at the restaurant. So, you can have a stress-free family date here where you can enjoy some champagne and wine while your furry friends stay by your side.
BGC
Bonifacio Global City is predominantly a pet-friendly area so you don’t really need to worry about not being able to bring your furry friends with you during a family date day. You can go around and explore the city or hang around in restaurants like La Picara (located on the 2nd floor of One Bonifacio High Street Mall on High Street corner 5th Avenue), which is a great Spanish tapas restaurant that welcomes humans and friendly pets alike.
Since this restaurant is located inside a mall, you’ll just have to make sure that your furballs have their pet diapers on and that they’re leashed. Even if you can trust your pet to be off-leash, it’s a must to keep the leash on especially when walking in malls.
Tagaytay
Bag of Beans is one of the go-to restaurants in Tagaytay and for good reason. They provide great food for good prices and you can even wine and dine while enjoying the amazing views of Taal. But, what’s great is that it’s also one of the best pet friendly restaurants in Tagaytay that both you and your pet can enjoy.
If you’re bringing your furry friends, they do ask that you clean up after them and let them stay in the outdoor areas. So, if you don’t mind being seated outside, then this is one spot you won’t want to miss!
Baguio
If you decide to head on over to Baguio and enjoy some family time with your furbabies and loved ones, then you should head on over to Hatch Coffee. This is one of the pet friendly restaurants in Baguio that allow you to enjoy a nice cup of joe with your dogs, cats, and even horses!
You can enjoy a cup of coffee or a dirty horchata, or even grab a burger without worrying about your pet since all pets are welcome here. Like most pet friendly restaurants in Baguio, Hatch Coffee asks that you not forget to keep your furbabies leashed and clean up after them if you plan to visit.
Pet-Friendly Parks
Pets are a part of the family, and they nearly always accompany us when we go somewhere, whether it's to the mall or for a staycation at a hotel that accepts animals. However, dogs also need to mingle with other dogs and practice their agility and endurance, just like humans do.
Thankfully, pet parks or dog parks near me, such as the ones listed below, featuring obstacle courses and other fun activities that your furbabies can enjoy.
SM By the BAY's Paw Park
Are your furbabies hyper and full of energy? If so, then you might want to spend some time with them at SM by the Bay’s Paw Park which is the first dog agility park in Pasay City. It opened in June of 2021 and it has seven agility challenges, including an A-frame, a weave pole, a hoop lump, a tube tunnel, an agility see-saw, an agility walk, and a walk ramp.
Entrance is free and it’s open daily from 6 AM to 9 AM and 4 PM to 9 PM! The building also complies with Philippine Canine Club requirements. So, you can let your furbabies enjoy hours of fun around the course but do clean up after them when you’re done.
BGC Central Bark
If you don’t mind paying a minimum of Php100, then you may want to head on over to Central Bark or Central Bark 2 in BGC. Open from 6 am to 8 pm daily, Central Bark is a 600 square meter off-leash dog park where your furbabies can enjoy hours of fun around the park and even meet new friends while they’re there.
Although day fees are Php100, it’s better to become a member to receive benefits like exclusive invitations to park events and discounts at the indoor dog park PetMe BGC and the online pet goods store Presidential Paws. The price difference between the monthly and annual passes is Php599. Your dogs can have hours of off-leash fun, but you are asked to bring some diapers, water bowls, treats, and other essentials while they’re there.
