Auditory, Visual, Or Tactile: How Does Your Child Learn?

No two kids are ever the same—even twins learn differently and may have varying interests. Thankfully, brands like Ogalala keep this in mind, as it helps parents find the best way to enhance their children’s curiosity.
Carrying brands we’ve trusted throughout the years (such as Crayola, National Geographic, The Learning Journey, Haliit, Melissa and Doug, Emco, and Learning Resource), Ogalala has something in store for every type of learner!
1. Auditory learners
Got a curious kid who listens intently or is drawn to anything musical? You have an auditory learner. According to studies, auditory learners “have an easier time understanding spoken instructions than written ones, store information by the way it sounds,” or hum or talk to themselves when bored. Here’s what to get them, based on age:
Infants:
Halilit Baby’s 1st birthday band: This child-friendly musical instrument set will surely have your baby playing for hours.
Toddlers:
The Learning Journey Early Learning ABC: Sing-along while learning shapes, colors, and the alphabet. Perfect for keeping those energetic toddlers in their seats sans screen time.
Halilit Xylophone: Raise a musical genius with this age-appropriate musical instrument. It is accurately tuned and has safety features and a well-shaped mallet so those tiny fingers do not get hurt while banging the instrument.
2. Visual learners
This type of learner enjoys seeing pictures and reading books. They learn best when they see what they want to study. Lively imagery and powerful visuals help them retain lessons best. Here are what they could enjoy:
Infants:
My First Crayola Easy Grip: Expose them to colors, the safe and convenient way. This primary color set suits those pudgy, little artistic hands.
Toddlers:
Melissa and Doug Tools chunky puzzle: Improve analytical skills through visuals—that’s what this puzzle can do. At full color, these tool pieces can also be used for pretend play.
Pre-school/School-age kids:
Melissa and Doug Magnetic Chalkboard Dry Eraser board: This dual-use learning tool gives your little artist a flexible medium for those doodles. It also has 36 magnetic letters and numbers to help them boost their photographic memory.
3. Tactile learners
Kids who love to tinker with items, pull apart toys and try to put them back, or do something that involves physical movement are tactile learners. They also love to be active, don’t particularly enjoy sitting for long, and often communicate with touch. What to get this bunch:
Infants:
Melissa and Doug sorting and counting stacker: With 55 shape pieces that can be stacked in various ways and 10 number tiles, this set will encourage your child to love numbers.
Toddlers:
Learning Resource Twisty Droppers: Add a twist, literally, to that water play. Can be played in groups or by the lonesome, this will surely keep your little one occupied.
Pre-school/School-age kids:
National Geographic Slime Kit: Encourage your budding scientist with this sensory play kit that comes with slime powder, stirring stick, storage container, and a full-color learning guide with instructions.
Do remember that learners can be a combination of these types. Expose them to a variety of learning tools so they become more well-rounded and ready to face the ever-changing world.
