In celebration of Mother's Day, edamama has teamed up with its new celebrity ambassador Iza Calzado for an empowering and heartfelt campaign, called "Happy Mother's Break."
When edamama asked mamas would make them happy on mother’s day, it’s a resounding “Ayoko muna magpaka-nanay.” The brand decided to challenge the norm of mother’s day campaigns where mamas are bombarded with reminders that they are indeed, a mom. The message is simple and pointed: While it’s nice to be celebrated for being a mama, and being showered with presents, it’s also nice to be allowed to be just you again—and that is the real gift.
Through a video, Iza encourages mamas everywhere to allow themselves to have a “happy mother’s break,” opportunities to reset and recharge their minds and do what they love so they can better support the people they love.
Iza opens the video with the phrase "break na tayo," emphasizing that sometimes, that's all mamas really need. She goes on to say that as a new mama herself, she has experienced the challenges and exhaustion that come with motherhood.
In a social media post, Iza expressed her admiration for all the strong mamas out there who have been on this journey longer than her. She highlights the importance of taking a break and recharging one’s batteries, especially for mothers who work tirelessly to care for their families. She believes that it’s crucial for mamas to prioritize their well-being and practice self-care to ensure that they can continue to be the best versions of themselves for their loved ones.
Iza passionately expresses that mamas need this break to reset and return as the best possible versions of themselves, both for their children and their families. It is also an opportunity to normalize mamas empowering those around them to take the reins sometimes, from dads doing the laundry to their kids helping out with some small chores.
Edamama and Iza invite all mamas to join them in this happy break, saying: "take a break before you break, mama." This serves as a reminder to prioritize self-care and mental well-being, especially for those who tirelessly care for others.
So this Mother's Day, Iza and edamama encourage mamas to do whatever form of relaxation or self-care brings them the most joy.
“Tara, break na tayo!" – let's take a break together and celebrate the strength and resilience of mamas everywhere. Happy Mother's Break, and Happy Mother's Day, mamas!
