Dancing is beneficial to kids in more ways than one. A fun and stimulating activity, it improves posture and coordination while teaching kids lessons on discipline and teamwork. Plus, it proves to be a great exercise for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers.
Watch your child skip, swing, and sway with glee as he or she discovers and pursues his or her passion for dance in any—or all—of these styles:
1. Ballet
Here’s your chance to raise a little ballerina. Ballet is an amazing way to teach kids about balance, coordination, and grace. Check out this Ballet Class that’s set in a virtual studio. Students will learn to develop their physical skills, creativity, expression and musicality.
2. K-Pop
This is a dance style that’s quickly becoming a favorite among kids, thanks to the popularity of the K-Pop culture. Dance moves are to the beat of K-Pop music, featuring faster tempo and employing hip-hop choreography—and to make it even more exciting, dressing up a la K-Pop superstar!
If your child’s an Army or a Blink, this K-Pop dance class will be the perfect creative outlet. Here, he or she will learn the fundamentals of dances he or she can groove to, with songs from BTS, Blackpink, and more!
3. Hip Hop
Got a child whose energy rivals that of a hiphop dancer? This dance class combines tribal and indigenous traditions with hip-hop and modern dance, and will get your little one started with some cool choreographies he or she can show off in your next family gathering! Hiphop is a popular dance genre that combines all types of movement—from footwork to hand gestures, and even facial expressions. This dance style is the perfect way to get your child groovin’ and shakin’!
4. Ballroom
If you think ballroom is just for the young once, think again. Ballroom dancing helps kids learn about coordination while allowing them to enjoy moving to a beat with a partner. Seeing your child kill it on the dance floor with this type of dance may just take you to a trip down memory lane, too.
5. Tap Dance
Kids will have fun keeping a beat in tap dance. It helps them develop coordination and is a fun way to express themselves. Tap dances are good workouts, too!
6. Broadway
Watching a musical is a feast for the senses, so kids are amusingly entertained and would want to be part of one. Enroll your child to a dance class for musical theater and watch him or her command the stage through a combination of ballet, jazz, and other dance moves performed in musical productions.
7. Combination types
Dance styles can be easily combined, and still be expressed creatively. There are dance classes your child can check out to have a feel of the different movements. Whether they’re into both jazz and tap or ballet and Broadway, let them explore and enhance their skills in a kid’s dance class.
