How Edamama Helped Me as a New Mama

There are many emotions that come with finding out you’re about to be a new mom. For some, it could be sheer excitement, while for others, their positive emotions could be riddled with fear and worry. For me, however, it was a mix of both.
I found out I was pregnant with my first child just a couple of weeks before the country was placed on lockdown for the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a greatly emotional time for me, as not only was I about to enter uncharted waters having to raise a child, but at the time, I also had to worry about the safety and health of myself, my loved ones, and of course, my unborn child.
Pregnancy in the Time of COVID-19
In the first few months of the pandemic, I was cooped up at home, scrolling through the internet endlessly. I did everything I could to learn about being a new mama while at home – from watching all the pregnancy and birthing videos I could, to reading all the new mama articles I could find. As much as I wanted to seek advice from fellow mamas, my options were limited given that everyone was busy trying to cope with their own pandemic woes.
My best source of information from fellow mamas came from a Viber group that I joined. It was the closest I had to a “mama community,” as my personal “mama tribe” didn’t exactly include a lot of mothers, as I was one of the first in my friend group to start a family. Although their support was invaluable and extremely comforting, I realized that getting advice from fellow mamas going through the same thing was still different. That’s why when I found out that edamama was launching a new community feature called Connect, I couldn’t help but feel happy for both new and existing mamas as they now have a place to find the support, guidance, and advice they need throughout all seasons of motherhood.
Finding Answers
I’ll be the first to admit that most of the time, I’m still learning how to be the best mom I can be. While I have a supportive family and a hands-on partner to help navigate through the world of parenting with me, there are still many things I have to figure out, and go through on my own.
Until today, I find myself scrolling through the Discover feature, reading through articles made by fellow mamas on a myriad of parenting topics. Whenever I read through these articles, I feel comforted knowing that I am not alone in this journey, and that there are mamas out there who have gone through the same experiences and have made it through. Knowing this, I am assured that I, too, can go through and grow through my day-to-day parenting experiences.
A Partner in Parenting
When I was “nesting” during my first pregnancy, I came across edamama. At a time when going out was prohibited, I had to buy everything my little one needed online, and I stumbled across the newly-launched platform and was so excited!
Admittedly, what attracted me to edamama at first glance was the generous vouchers/discounts they offered. After all, there’s nothing a mama wants more than to score great deals on quality, tried-and-tested baby care products!
As time passed however, I saw myself returning to edamama whenever I needed mama and baby products not just because of the discounts they offered, but because I could tell that they were a company with a mission – a mission to make parenting easier for Filipinos.
A Company that Cares
You’d expect online platforms to do just one thing, and that is to sell. With edamama, however, I realized they were more than just your average online platform. They care about their customers.
edamama hosts only authentic, trusted family items from all over the world, giving me peace of mind that every time I shop, I am using safe and clean products on my little one. What makes shopping on edamama even better for me is how they offer Express Shipping!
As a new mama, there are so many things to think about that at times, you don’t realize you’re running low on diapers or on wipes until it’s too late. I can’t recall how many times I simply took my phone out, ordered a new stash on edamama late at night, only to receive my order the next morning. Talk about efficiency!
While that’s more than enough for me to keep returning to the edamama platform, what keeps drawing me back is the content they bring out for mamas like me, who navigate through parenthood one day at a time.
Navigating Parenthood
Now with a toddler nearing his “terrific (or terrible!) twos,” and a little girl about to turn a month old, I find myself searching for answers, and sometimes, tips and tricks, on how to make this transition to being a mama of two more seamless and stress-free.
I am so thankful to have edamama with me on this beautiful journey. From making essentials more accessible to my family, making celebrations more simple with the gift registry feature, and making parenting content more genuine and authentic, I am grateful for the way edamama has made motherhood a lot easier for me in many ways.
As a parent, my main focus is to live intentionally and authentically so that my partner and I can gradually shape our children to be compassionate, empowered, and loving people. While we have each other to lean on in this journey, they say it takes a village to raise a child; I can’t agree more. In my village, there’s my partner, our families, our friends, and there’s edamama.
