Move More, Stress Less: Why This Mama Vlogger Believes Exercise Makes You A Better Parent

Mama of 3 Andrea Taylor knows motherhood ain’t always full of rainbows and sunshine – but she’s geared up for the difficult, but fulfilling journey of raising humans.
She equips herself with essentials for longevity: a healthy mind and body through the discipline of exercise.
“Being healthy and keeping myself in good shape helps me become a better mom. I am less cranky, tired and hot-headed when I have enough sleep and proper exercise. The good mood I get from working out helps me cater to my family better,” said the Davao-based vlogger who hopes to inspire other moms to get fit.
She also makes sure her love for fitness is part of the household’s routine.
“My children are very active, and we spend 60% of our day outdoors. We enjoy playing soccer, swimming, taking long hikes, and learning how to rollerblade together. I love how active my children are, and how they would choose being outdoors and under the sun rather than being on their gadgets,” she said.
She’s able to do this for her kids as a full-time mama, while successfully merging passion and profit with her online store selling activewear and workout accessories.
Her “relaxed, balanced, and fun” parenting style also made her see how beautiful moments in parenting are oftentimes overshadowed by the stress of looking after children.
“Take a deep breath and enjoy the hard days. All the sleepless nights, endless cries, clingy little ones, because before we know it, our kids will not need us as much. They will become independent kids and we will miss those clingy moments with our children,” she said.
As fitness made her feel like a better parent, she is now advocating for fitness for mamas, especially those who need self-care.
“Finding time can be difficult for a hardworking and busy mom. But if you set aside 30 minutes of your day to workout, you are setting a schedule for self care and self love by working out and staying healthy,” she added.
Her outlook on physical wellness has translated to an overall positive outlook in life, too.
“My positive outlook in life helped me in my most difficult times. Staying positive against all the hardships and tired days of being a mom helped me deal with daily situations,” she said.
