Out of the many things that a child takes with them throughout their adult lives, it’s the special memories they’ve made when they were children. As adults, we often find ourselves reminiscing about “better days,” which often include stories of Christmas.
As parents, one thing you’d really like for your children to experience is fun, memorable Christmas holidays surrounded by family. While you may or may not think that things aren’t as “fun” as they used to be, there are still ways for you to ensure that your children have the most special Christmas this year.
Before anything else, putting on some Christmas-themed clothing can help you feel the “Christmas spirit” more. Have your children wear some adorable Christmas Pajamas (that are currently on a Buy 1, Take 1 promotion!), and have sets for you and your husband, too! Once your outfits are settled, here are some activities that you can do together:
Decorate the Christmas Tree
Play some Christmas songs, deck the halls with Christmas wall stickers, and decorate your family Christmas tree with your chosen ornaments! This will definitely be a fun activity that the entire family will enjoy, and will set the mood for Christmas.
Once the gifts start filling up underneath, your children will definitely feel more and more excited for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to come.
Make Gingerbread Houses
Whether you’d like to bake some gingerbread cookies or buy some ready-made graham biscuits at the grocery store, making gingerbread houses can be a fun activity for the whole family. Just make sure to stock up on many candies that you can use as decoration – Candy Corner’s got all of them.
From jelly beans to tornadoes to gummy bears, they’ve got you covered.
Bake Santa’s Cookies
Gather your baking supplies and have your little one bake cookies for Santa Claus during Christmas Eve. Children love anticipating Santa’s arrival, and making it more realistic for them by having milk and cookies prepared by the tree can make it all the more exciting!
Have a Christmas Sing-Along
Children love singing and dancing. Spend Christmas Eve jamming to Christmas songs together in matching pajamas while waiting for Santa to visit your home. You can head straight to bed after your sing-along, and wake up to open presents – still in your Christmas-themed pajamas!
Have a Christmas Photoshoot
On Christmas morning, have a simple family Christmas photoshoot at home wearing your matching Christmas-themed pajamas so you have photos to look back at for years to come. Your children will definitely appreciate looking back at these photos from their childhood, and it’ll be a great addition to your Facebook and Instagram feeds!
