8 Breastfeeding Friendly Lounges in the Metro
Let's have a real talk about something awesome–breastfeeding! It's like Mother Nature's superpower, giving our little munchkins all the goodness they need to grow up strong and happy. And the best part? It's not just about nutrition; it's about that special bond we create with our babies. It's like magic, right?
Now, back in the day, breastfeeding was all about snuggling up at home. But it’s the 21st century and we recognize the need for support and comfy spaces to breastfeed whenever and wherever we need to be. Especially now, in this post-pandemic era, when families are out and about, we need breastfeeding-friendly spots around Metro Manila more than ever!
So, the edamama team took on a mission to hunt down the best breastfeeding lounges in the city as we aim to make all you mamas' lives a little easier, one lounge at a time!
Alright, let's dive in! Here are the lounges we scoped out - no particular order, just pure awesomeness all around:

1. Greenbelt 5, Makati City

Located on the 4th floor of the mall, their nursing station is nestled in a very spacious Family Lounge. Apart from their dedicated breastfeeding area/nursing station, the Family Lounge also offers a space for changing diapers, play area, and a computer nook–truly something for the relaxation of the entire family.
The nursing station is very private. It is curtained and also has a comfortable chair with a stool and mini table. Plus points as the chair is situated by an electrical outlet where you can charge your phone or even pump milk.
One thing to note though is that you do need a BPI Amore Card or spend PhP 2,000 single receipt to access this lounge.

2. Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City

For mamas in the Mandaluyong area, we are happy to report that Shangri-La Plaza also has a breastfeeding area. The place is definitely spacious–it is well air-conditioned, it offers 4 chairs, 2 sinks, 2 diaper-changing stations and a refrigerator (perfect for when you also need a space to store your precious liquid gold).
Their breastfeeding room also has guidelines which you can see below. Although there are no curtains for mamas who prefer to nurse in a more private setting, the place has a provision for maximum capacity of 2 mothers and 2 children at a time. Plus points, too because it is beside a bathroom and is free/open to all–accessibility for the win!

3. Estancia, Pasig City

What we like about Estancia is that there are plenty of breastfeeding rooms scattered around the mall so mamas can have more options as they walk around the area. The one we went to in particular is near UNIQLO bridgeway.
It is a small room with a door that can be closed as you wish, this gives you more privacy as you feed your baby. There are 2 chairs, 1 diaper-changing table and there is also a small couch outside so that the family can wait nearby. The room is also next to a bathroom. The best part about it? It is open to all for free.

4. Rustan’s Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City

Now let’s go down south. You're in for a treat at Rustan's Alabang Nursing Station. Located in Corte de las Palmas, Alabang Town Center–this place is a total gem!
First off, it's spacious and fully air-conditioned! Plus, they've got a comfy 2-seater couch for you to kick back and relax with your little one. And don't worry about diaper changes - they've got you covered with a convenient diaper-changing station.
But here's the best part–the ambiance! It's well-lit and adorably decorated. Your little munchkin will be entertained while you're doing your mama duties. The location is spot-on too and can be accessed by all! It is right next to the gift-wrapping station and bathroom, so you can multitask like a pro.

5. IKEA, Mall of Asia, Pasay City

You can always count on IKEA to provide the very best experience when you visit their store and their breastfeeding space is no exception. It is neat and spacious.
It has 3 separate rooms for breastfeeding inside–all with privacy curtains and partitions. The space also has 2 sinks with 2 diaper changing tables next to them. IKEA also provides a water dispenser. And while you are busy with feeding your baby, you’d be happy to know that your toddler can also play inside since there are a few toys and a small table for them too.
We also like this small detail where rooms have hooks so you can hang your breastfeeding bags and other essentials. The tiniest details can make the difference and this nifty addition truly is 100.

6. S Maison, Pasay City

S Maison also has a breastfeeding station located on the 2nd floor beside Digital Walker. They provide 1 small and private room with a chair and table–the essentials you need. There are also 2 electrical outlets to charge your breast pumps.
The breastfeeding station is located right across the mall’s clinic. If you need a simple and private room to do your mama duties, this space can definitely provide you with that.

7. Ayala Malls Vertis North, Quezon City

Similar to Greenbelt 5, Vertis North’s Breastfeeding stations are neatly tucked in the Family Lounge on the 3rd floor.
Now, the lounge itself is decent and they've got 2 rooms for breastfeeding. Plenty of space for you and your little one to chill out. But the real game changer would be the massage chairs in their breastfeeding rooms. Vertis North took it up a notch with these fancy OGAWA chairs for major comfy vibes! Sink and a diaper-changing table are also available in each breastfeeding room.
The amenities are solid, and you'll have a comfy place to nurse your baby. So, consider it if you're in the area! One thing to note though is that the Family Lounge can only be accessed if you have an ARC Card, the Ayala Rewards Circle Card, or a Senior Citizen Card based on their lounge guidelines.

8. Powerplant Mall Rockwell, Makati City

It's located on the 2nd floor of the mall, super easy to find, and just a stone's throw away from the entrance. Plus, they've got not 1, not 2, but 4 breastfeeding rooms!
There's a restroom right within the breastfeeding area and the best part is that this place is spacious! Plenty of room to park your stroller and chill out. And if you're waiting for your turn or just want to relax, they've got a cozy waiting area too.
Each breastfeeding room comes with a handy diaper changing table. So you're all set for any baby emergencies!
It's got everything a breastfeeding mama could wish for–accessibility, space, and all the amenities you need.
*The team also checked Alabang Town Center’s Family lounge but as of Jul 4, 2023, the place was currently under renovation.
So there you have it, mamas and papas! We hope that this list has provided you with essential information as you plan your mall trips with the family. While breastfeeding is an intimate experience, you mamas should not feel confined to your homes. Public spaces that accommodate nursing mothers with comfortable and private areas play a crucial role in supporting breastfeeding on-the-go.
And while we have covered some of the breastfeeding lounges here in Metro Manila, it is worth noting that many other establishments are also joining this movement to support nursing mamas. As we continue to strive for inclusivity and normalization of breastfeeding, let us celebrate these breastfeeding lounges and encourage more public places to create similar spaces that cater to the needs of nursing mamas. Together, we can create a more breastfeeding-friendly world where every mama feels empowered to care for her child with love and confidence, regardless of her location.
